The Paris Agreement was adopted by 195 nations in 2015 at COP21, the annual meeting of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The goal of the agreement is to limit global warming to well below 2 °C, preferably to 1.5 °C, compared to pre-industrial levels (1850-1900).
